HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4367 RESOLUTION NO. 4367 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ENABLING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN OBSOLETE RECORDS WHEREAS, the City Clerk has determined that certain records within the City Clerk vault file will no longer be required to be retained; and WHEREAS, there is a need to periodically purge obsolete records. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. As authorized by Sections 3512 and 27300 of the Election Code of the State of California, and subject to the approval of the City Attorney, the City Council hereby approves the destruction of the following records, unless there is known to be litigation pending which might require their retention: a. Recall Petitions that are over eight (8) months old. b. Referendum Petitions that are over eight (8) months old. SECTION 2. The above described petitions shall be limited to: a. Intended recall election announced November 10, 1980. b. Referendum election conducted July 19, 1983. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolu- tion, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 13tn day of Marcn, 1984.
