HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4351 RESOLUTION NO. 4351 • A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION PAYABLE TO CLASSIFICATIONS WITHIN THE MIDDLE MANAGEMENT SERVICE. WHEREAS, the City Council has given careful consideration to the Management /Compensation Plan as recommended by the City Manager. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Middle Management salary schedule for division heads is amended as follows: CLASSIFICATION MONTHLY RANGE Assistant to the City Manager $2,578 - $3,133 Building Official 3,022 - 3,673 City Engineer /Deputy Dir. of Pub. Works 3,374 - 4,100 City Librarian 2,846 - 3,459 City Planner 3,022 - 3,673 • Data Processing Manager 2,700 - 3,282 Finance Division Manager 2,623 - 3,200 Fire Battalion Chief 2,954 - 3,591 Housing and Redevelopment Coordinator 2,615 - 3,178 Personnel Director 2,623 - 3,200 Police Captain 3,067 - 3,831 Purchasing Manager 2,353 - 2,860 Recreation Division Manager 2,103 - 2,566 Social Services Division Manager 2,103 - 2,566 Superintendent of Physical Services 2,722 - 3,310 Superintendent of Water and Sanitation 2,722 - 3,310 Technical Services Manager 3,011 - 3,738 Theater Manager 2,147 - 2,660 SECTION 2. The following classifications are not classified as division heads but will continue to be regarded as part of the Middle Management service during the period in which the positions are occupied by the incumbent employees. At such time that these positions become vacant the classifications will be eliminated from the Middle Management service and placed into the classified service of the City. The salary schedule for these classifications is amended as follows: CLASSIFICATION MONTHLY RANGE Assistant City Planner $2,549 - $3,110 Deputy City Clerk 1,655 - 2,020 Manager /Housing and Human Services 2,083 - 2,542 Traffic Engineer 2,843 - 3,469 SECTION 3. All benefits currently or hereinafter provided to classifications within the corresponding recognized bargaining units in the City's classified service are approved for Middle Management personnel unless otherwise specified. Middle Management employees are specifically excluded from overtime compensation (exceptions are Fire Battalion Chiefs) and education incentive pay (exceptions are Police Captains). Employees who are appointed or promoted into the Middle Management service of the City after December 31, 1983, shall not be eligible to receive the Longevity Pay differentials provided to classified personnel. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and provide for the appropriate distribution thereof.
