HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 4218 RESOLUTION NO. 4218 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY IN MEMORY OF MAJOR RUDOLPH WEHKING, THE FIRST CITY TREASURER WHEREAS, Major Rudolph Wehking was the first City Treasurer of the City of Downey, and was appointed on December 17, 1956, and served until July 1, 1957; and WHEREAS, Major Wehking contributed materially in setting up a new government and gave generously of his time; and WHEREAS, Major Wehking continued to be interested in the progress of the City of Downey until his death on March 28, 1983. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That in memory of his important service to the City of Downey that this Resolution be adopted; and SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and as a record for history, cause it to be filed in the Official Book of Resolutions in the archives of this City, and a copy be forwarded to the Historical Society of the City of Downey.
