HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3932 RESOLUTION NO. 3932 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY PROPOSING TO ANNEX A CERTAIN AREA INTO THE LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT AD 121 AND ORDERING THE CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER TO PREPARE AND FILE A REPORT PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972 (ANNEXATION 81/2 - ADWEN STREET). THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council proposes to annex a certain area into the Lighting Maintenance District AD 121 under the provisions of Article 2 of Chapter 2 of Part 2 of Division 15 of the California Streets and Highways Code (Sections 22605 et seq.) for the purpose of operating and maintaining public lighting facilities located in, upon and along public streets. The boundary description and plan of the proposed locations are on file in the office of the City Clerk, which said documents are open to public inspection in said office under the designation Annexation 81/2 - Adwen Street, between Old River School Road and Julius Avenue. SECTION 2. The City Traffic Engineer is ordered to prepare and file a report in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of Chapter 1 of Part 2 of Division 15 of the California Streets and Highways Code (Sections 22565 et — seq.). Seven (7) utility-owned high - pressure sodium vapor luminaires shall be mounted on marbelite standards energized by a single overhead conductor. In order to pay installation, maintenance and energy costs, the properties shall be annexed into Zone IV of Lighting Maintenance District AD 121 for two years, and then transferred into Zone I effective July 1, 1983, to continue collection of energy and maintenance costs. These costs shall be collected in a lump sum fixed amount by the County of Los Angeles at the same time and in the same manner as County property taxes are collected. I. Installation Cost: 7 Marbelite Standards @ $372,50 each $ 2,607.50 II. Annual Operation Cost: 7 - 5800 lumen high - pressure sodium lights @ $73.68 each per year $ 515.76 Payment Schedule: $70.10 per dwelling unit per year for current 1980 -81 fiscal year. The above costs are based upon the 1980 -81 Lighting Maintenance District AD 121 budget cost and are subject to change based on actual expenditures and methods of assessment. i C.
