A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DOWNEY ACCEPTING OFFER OF DEDICATION AS A PUBLIC
ROAD OF THAT CERTAIN TWENTY -FOOT WIDE FUTURE STREET
LYING EASTERLY OF PARAMOUNT BOULEVARD AND DESIGNATED
AS LEEDS STREET.
WHEREAS, The future street deed recorded as Instrument No. 78- 388678 on April 13,
1978 in the Office of the County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles, offered
dedication as a Public Road that certain twenty -foot wide future street lying 290.00
feet Easterly from the Easterly line of Paramount Boulevard 100.00 feet wide; and
WHEREAS, it is provided in said offer of dedication that such offer shall remain
open and may be accepted in whole or in part at any time by the City Council of the
City of Downey, except upon revocation or abandonment as provided in Part 3, Division 9
of the State of California Streets and Highway Code; and
WHEREAS, said offer of dedication has not been revoked or abandoned.
NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Said offer is hereby accepted and said area hereby is declared to
be a public street in the City of Downey.
Said street is described as follows:
PARCEL 1: The Southwesterly 20.00 feet of the Southeasterly 110.00 feet
of that portion of Lot "F" in the Rancho Santa Gertrudes, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as per map recorded in Book 32, Page 18, Miscellaneous
Records of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the Southwesterly line of the land described in
the deed to Joseph P. Grossman, recorded in Book 6507, Page 233 of Deeds,
in the office of the Recorder of said County, that is South 58 ° 55'12" East
thereon 135 feet from the Southeasterly line of Paramount Boulevard, 50.00
feet wide,as shown on a map of Tract No. 12760, recorded in Book 244, Page 31
of Maps, in the office of the Recorder of said County; thence South 58 ° 55'12"
East along said Southwesterly line 290.00 feet; thence parallel with said
Southeasterly line of Paramount Boulevard South 32 ° 12'00" West 170.00 feet;
thence Northwesterly 290.00 feet parallel with said Southwesterly line of
the land of Grossman; thence Northeasterly parallel with said Southeasterly
line of Paramount Boulevard 170.00 feet to the point of beginning.
PARCEL 2: The Southwesterly 20.00 feet of that portion of Lot "F" in the
Rancho Santa Gertrudes, as per map recorded in Book 32, Page 18 of Miscellaneous
Records, in the office of the County Recorder of said County, described as
follows:
Beginning at the most Southerly corner of said Lot "F " thence along the
Southwesterly line of said Lot, North 59 ° 03'36" West 1082.70 feet; thence
parallel with the Southeasterly line of said Lot "F" North 32 ° 23'29" East
616.92 feet, more or less, to a point in the Southwesterly line of the
land described in the deed to Joseph P. Grossman recorded in Book 6507,
Page 223 of Deeds, in the office of the Recorder of said County, and the
true point of beginning, said point being the Northeasterly corner of the
land described in the deed to Doyle Hocker, et ux, recorded March 18, 1947
in Book 24275, Page 379, Official Records of said County; thence along said
Southwesterly line, North 58 ° 55'12" West 313.23 feet more or less, to a
point that is distant South 58 ° 55'12" East thereon 425.00 feet from the
Southeasterly line of Paramount Boulevard, 50.00 feet wide, as shown on
map of Tract No. 12760, recorded in Book 244, Page 31 of Maps, records of
said County, last said point being also the Northwesterly corner of said
land of Hocker; thence parallel with said Southeasterly line of Paramount
Boulevard South 32 ° 12'00" West 160.00 feet; thence North 58 ° 55'12" West
30.00 feet; thence South 32 ° 12'00" West 10.00 feet; thence South 58 ° 55'12"
East 342.67 feet to a line that bears South 32 ° 23'39" West from the point
of beginning; thence along last said line North 32 ° 23'39" East 170.00
feet to the true point of beginning.
Resolution No. 3790
EXCEPTING from the above described Parcel 2 that portion thereof lying
Southeasterly of the following described line:
Beginning at a point on the Northeasterly line of said Parcel distant
Southeasterly thereon 73.45 feet from the Northwesterly corner of said
parcel; thence Southwesterly parallel with said Southeasterly line of
Paramount Boulevard a distance of 70.00 feet; thence Northwesterly 4.00
feet parallel with said Southwesterly line of the land of Grossman;
thence Southwesterly parallel with said Southeasterly line of Paramount
Boulevard a distance of 100.00 feet to a point on the Southwesterly line
of said Parcel, and the end of this line description.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and
thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
