HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3722 RESOLUTION NO. 3722 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY RECOMMENDING THAT THE MEMBERS OF THE CONGRESS OF THE UNITED STATES REFRAIN FROM APPROVING A SALARY INCREASE FOR SAID MEMBERS OF CONGRESS WHEREAS, the Legislative Branch Appropriations Bill, HR 4390, contains a seven percent cost of living increase for Federal Employees, Members of Congress and Congressional staff and judges; and WHEREAS, if the Congress of the United States does not vote on the Bill; it will automatically take effect. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City of Downey strongly recommends that Congress exempt Members of Congress from any cost of living increase. SECTION 2. That a conformed copy of this Resolution shall be sent to Congressman Wayne Grisham, Senator Alan Cranston and Senator S. I. Hayakawa. SECTION 3.
