HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3491 RESOLUTION NO. 3491 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ESTABLISHING THREE (3) WATER SERVICE ZONES FOR SEPARATE WATER RATES, ANDRESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2380. The City Council of the City of Downey does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7304 of the Downey Municipal Code, the City Council hereby creates and establishes three water service zones within the City as shown upon Exhibit A attached hereto and by this reference made a part hereof: ZONE I The following bi- monthly rates hereby are established to be effec- tive January 31, 1978, and shall be collected by the Water Division of the City through the Director of Finance for water furnished by said City for the said zone. Zone 1 as used herein shall include the geo- graphical area shown as Zone I on Exhibit A & a water using who is receiving water from the Downey Municipal Water System as the same exists on January 30, 1978. For water furnished by said City through water meters: First 2000 cu. ft. or less ($0.302) $6.04 Next 1000 cu. ft., per 100 cu. ft. 0.226 Over 3000 cu. ft., per 100 cu. ft. 0.216 The minimum bi- monthly charge for water furnished through meters shall be as follows: Size of Meter Minimum Charge 5/8" x 3/4" $6.04 3/4" 6.04 1" 8.30 11" 20.00 2" 32.00 3" 64.00 4" 102.00 6" 201.00 8" 322.00 10" 464.00 For apartments, add 50 to minimum for each additional apart- ment over one using the same meter. For hotels, add 25 to minimum for each living unit over one using the same meter. There shall be no charge for water furnished through, or for fire protection meters, when said meters are installed solely for fire protection. ZONE II The following bi- monthly rates hereby are established to be effective January 31, 1978 and shallbe collected by the Water Division of the City through the Director of Finance for water furnished by said City for the said zone. Zone11 as used herein shall include the geo- graphical area shown as Zone u on Exhibit A and a water user who is re- ceiving water from the Park Water Company in the City as the same exists on January 30, 1978. Zone Alas used herein shall include the geo- graphical area shown as Zone uIon Exhibit A and a water user who is receiving water from the Southern California Water Company in the City as the same exists on January 30, 1978. For water furnished by said City through water meters: First 1000 cu. ft. per 100 cu. ft. $ 0.288 Over 1000 cu. ft., per 100 cu. ft. 0.317 Service Clirge Bi- Monthly Size of Meter Charge 5/8" x 3/4" $ 5.50 3/4" 8.50 1" 14.00 1%" 20.80 2" 33.00 3" 42.00 4" 92.00 6" 140.00 8" 230.00 10" 330.00 The service charge is a readiness -to -serve charge applicable to all metered service and to which is to be added the quantity charge computed at the Quantity Rates. Fire Service Rates The following monthly rates for fire service shall be $3.00 per inch of diameter of service connection per month. -3- MINIMUM OR SERVICE CHARGES The minimum charge or service charge will be charged in all zones unless a shut -off or opening is ordered by the owner or tenant during the bi- monthly billing period, then the charge shall be based on actual quantity of water used. SECTION 2. Resolution No. 2380 is rescinded. SECTION 3. This resolution shall be operative January 31, 1978. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
