RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY REQUESTING INTERCITY ENFORCEMENT AGAINST GRAFFITI The City Council of the City of Downey does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, graffiti is unsightly and has a degrading effect upon this community and all the communities in Southern California; and WHEREAS, graffiti is a growing threat to all communities. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Downey resolves that: 1. State, County, and City laws must be strengthened to control this abuse to our cities. 2. All law enforcement agencies must be made aware of the necessity to enforce all existing and future laws which protect public and private property from graffiti. 3. Cities should request stronger action from their respective judicial representatives. LET IT BE FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
