A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION
TO VACATE CENTURY BOULEVARD, EASTERLY
OF BARLIN AVENUE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey
upon recommendation of the Planning Commission hereby declares
its intention to vacate that portion of Century Boulevard
easterly of Barlin Avenue as shown on the attached map on
file in the office of the City Clerk to which reference is
made for further particulars, this area to be vacated being
described as follows:
A portion of Tract No. 27769, designated as
Century Boulevard, in the City of Downey,
County of Los Angeles, State of California,
recorded in Book 701, Pages 33 and 34 of Maps
in the office of the County Recorder of said
county described as follows:
Beginning at the most southerly corner of Lot
5 of said tract; thence South 29° 15' 00" West
20 feet more or less to the most southerly
corner of said tract; thence North 60° 39' 45"
West along the southerly line of said tract
252.79 feet; thence northeasterly 20 feet more
or less to a point in the southwesterly line
of Lot 1 of said tract distant North 60° 39' 45"
West 252.76 feet from the point of beginning;
thence South 60° 39' 45" East to the point of
beginning.
The City Council hereby elects to proceed under the provisions
of Part 3 of Division 9 (Sections 8300 et seq.) of the Streets
and Highways Code.
SECTION-2. In the event said street is vacated,
the public convenience and necessity require the reservation
of a permanent easement and right of way for a power pole
easement and an underground telephone line easement and all

proceedings hereunder shall be taken subject to such reser-
vations and exceptions in accordance with the provisions
of Section 8300 and 8301 of the Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 3. The hour of 7:30 p.m. on the 29th
day of September, 1977, is hereby fixed as the time, and
the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 8425 Second Street,
Downey, California, is hereby fixed as the place for hearing

all persons interested in objecting to the proposed vacation
of said street.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall cause this resolu-
tion to be published in the manner required by Section 8322
of the Streets and Highways Code of theState of California.
SECTION 5. Notices of the proposed vacation shall
be posted in the manner prescribed by said Section 8322.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the
adoption of this resolution.
