HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3362 } n - RESOLUTION NO. 3362 i A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY AMENDING THE PERSONNEL MANUAL REGARDING EMERGENCY COMPENSATION THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: , SECTION 1. In accordance with Article II, Chapter 7 of the Downey Municipal Code, the Memorandum of Understanding of December 1, 1976 between the City of Downey and the Downey City Employees' Association, a signed copy of which is attached hereto and made part hereof, is approved. • SECTION 2. The substantive provisions of said ` memorandum shall be added to Section 7 on page 53 of the Downey City Personnel Manual.. SECTION 3. I 1 i1 il • k • 1 I s At to Re soL_ution J;6 2 r MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING • BETWEEN THE CITY OF DOWNEY AND THE DOWNEY CITY EMPLOYEES' ASSOCIATION December 1, 1976 After meeting and conferring in good faith, the City Manager and the Downey City Employees' Association agree to recommend to the Downey City Council that the following language spelling out emergency compensation be added at the end of Section 7 on Page 53 of the Downey City Personnel Manual: "Emergency is defined as including the following contingencies which may, after justification by the department head and approval by the City Manager, be compensated as indicated below or as directed by the City Manager. . . a. When an employee resigns, a subordinate employee required to perform on a short term or temporary basis in the level • of the superior position may be paid one schedule above his regular rate for the period of such assignment. b. When an employee is repeatedly absent for periods - /01.-' totalling 30% or more of the working days in any calendar quarter due to illness or other unscheduled absence, a subordinate designated by the depart- - 14 2 ment head to perform on a short term or temporary basis on the level of the v superior position ma),=be paid one schedule above his normal rate for the period of such service. This section shall not be construed to pay for .0v vacation periods, and shall terminate at the end of the first payroll period . 0 , in which the subordinate does not substitute for 30% of the working days.
