A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
PROPOSING TO CHANGE THE WORK IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT
FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF ORANGE STREET.
(A.D. No. 119)
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 3265 of the City Council of the City of Downey,
certain plans and specifications were approved and adopted, said plans and
specifications being identified respectively as follows: Plan 1 -14 -31 and
Specification No. A.D. 119; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 3268 of said City Council, said Council
declared its intention to order the work as described in said resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised by the City Engineer that
certain changesin plans and specifications should be made;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The said City Council hereby proposes to change the work
described in said plans and specifications and the work described and set
forth in Resolution No. 3268, all as hereinafter set forth.
Said work is proposed to be changed by modifying the plan to include
the construction of sidewalk along the south side of Orange Street and the
east side of Glynn Avenue, all as shown on Drawing No. 1- 14 -31 -M.
Said plan is on file in the office of the City Engineer of said City
and said plan and the specifications as proposed to be modified are now
on file in said office, and shall be and are open and available for inspection.
It is estimated that the proposed changes will increase the cost of the
work by $2,000.00.
There shall be contributed by the City to the cost of doing said work
the following:
(a) The full cost of sidewalk on the south side of Orange Street
from approximately 130 feet east of Glynn Avenue to the east
end of the work on Orange Street.
(b) The cost of sidewalk, on a matching fund basis, in accordance with
the policy adopted by the City Council on July 14, 1975, on Glynn
Avenue and on the south side of Orange Street from Glynn Avenue to
approximately 130 feet east thereof.
It is estimated that City's cost for this work will be $1,600.00, and
said sum shall be paid from the Treasury of the City and from the General Fund
thereof.
SECTION 2. Notice hereby is given that on the 13th day of July, 1976,
at 7 :30 p.m., any person interested in the proceedings referred to in said
Resolution No. 3268, and having any objections to the changes proposed herein,
may appear before said City Council and show cause why said changes should not
be ordered, and any person interested may file written objections to the
proposed changes with the City Clerk, at any time not later than the date of
the hearing.
The City Clerk hereby is directed to publish this resolution in the
"Southeast News" at least once, the first publication to be at least ten days
prior to the date of the above hearing.

.... The Engineering Division of the Department of Community Development
of the City of Downey, whose telephone number is 861 -0361, extension 283,
is the Department to answer inquiries regarding the hearing proceedings.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force
and effect.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Downey held on the
22nd day of June , 1976, by the affirmative vote of at
least four Council Members.
