HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3302 RESOLUTION NO. 3302 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ADOPTING THE FISCAL YEAR 1976 -77 BUDGET WITH IMPLEMENTING DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, the City Council has given careful consideration to the Service Programs recommended by the City Manager for fiscal year 1976 -77, commencing July 1, 1976. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized to expend, in accord- ance with the laws of the State of California, the Charter of the City of Downey and its ordinances, on behalf of the City Council, an amount of $15,310,500 for the Functions and Service Programs detailed below and in Exhibit "A ", together with any supplemental revisions or amendments hereto authorized by the City Council: OPERATING BUDGET Function Amount General Government $ 1,160,030 Public Safety 6,222,820 Physical Environment 1,895,030 Culture - Recreation 2,363,870 Community Development 1,439,320 Human Services 31,900 13,112,970 Contingency Salary /Benefits Reserve 550,000 Equipment Acquisition 55,830 Total Operating and Capital Outlay Expenditures $13,718,800 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS General Government $ 501,825 Physical Environment 519,700 Culture - Recreation 258,175 Community Development 312,000 Total Capital Improvements $ 1,591,700 TOTAL EXPENDITURES $15,310,500 SECTION 2. The amount of dollars specified above is hereby appropriated from the following funds: General Fund $11,935,210 Special Revenue Funds 1,632,100 Enterprise Funds 1,611,860 Intra - Governmental Service Funds 55,830 Capital Projects Fund 75,500 $15,310,500 SECTION 3. The appropriations specified above shall constitute the maximum amounts authorized for the FUNCTIONS indicated; except, however, the City Manager is hereby authorized to make budgetary transfers within a depart- ment /office or between service programs if in his opinion such a revision is necessary and proper to the effective operation of the City. SECTION 4. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to transfer monies between funds in such amounts and at such times during the fiscal year as he may determine necessary to the competent operation of the City; except that no such transfer shall be made in contravention of State law or City ordi- nance or exceed in total amounts specified within the budget (Exhibit "A ") or as may be amended by the City Council. SECTION 5. The existing number and classifications of employees in the respective functions, together with those specified in Exhibit "A" and any amendments or revisions authorized by the City Council are hereby authorized for the fiscal year. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Reso- lution, and appropriate distribution thereof. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of June, 1976. / _ -' r" 6r azel N.
