A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ESTABLISH AN UNDERGROUND
UTILITY DISTRICT ALONG FIRESTONE BOULEVARD BETWEEN
DOLAN AVENUE AND WOODRUFF AVENUE AND WOODRUFF AVENUE
NORTH OF FIRESTONE BOULEVARD AND CAUSING ALL SPECIFIED
UTILITIES THEREIN TO BE RELOCATED UNDERGROUND (DISTRICT
NO. 6)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and that
it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Downey to establish
an Underground Utility District and to order the removal of poles with their
related overhead wires and assorted overhead structures along Firestone Boulevard
between Dolan Avenue and Woodruff Avenue and Woodruff Avenue north of Firestone
Boulevard all in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5, Article VII, of
the City of Downey Municipal Code.
SECHON 2. The Underground Utility District boundary and poles to be
removed shall be shown on Plan No. 3 -2 -47 on file in the office of the City
Clerk. A . description of the area is also on file in the office of the City
Clerk. .Ey this reference, both the plan and the description are made parts
hereof.
SECTION 3, All work contemplated by the Resolution of Intention shall be
done in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5, containing Sections 7500
through 7510 of Article VII, of the City of Downey Municipal Code. All
improve- ents within the public right of way shall be completed by November 30,
1977, and the cost thereof shall be paid for by the utility companies, and all
work on private property shall be completed the property owner by June 30,-
1977. If said work is not completed by June 30, 1977, the .City shall proceed
with the completion of said work pursuant to the provisions of Section 7508.
SECTION 4. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7501 of the City of
Downey municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Downey hereby sets the
hour of 7:30 p.m., April. 12, 1976, as the time and the Council Chambers at the
City Halt of the City of Downey as the place for the hearing of protests in
relation. to the proposed District.
SECSON 5. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing in the
manner provided in Section 7501 of the City of Downey Municipal Code.
