A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
ASCERTAINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM
WAGES TO BE PAID UPON PUBLIC WORK WITHIN THE CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to Sections 1773, 1773.1 and 1773.2 of the Labor
Code of the State of California, the City Council hereby does ascertain and
declare the general prevailing rate of per diem wages, employer payments for
health and welfare, pension, vacation, and similar purposes for each craft,
classification or type of work needed in the execution of the contracts for
public work in the locality of the City of Downey to be in accordance with
the Southern California Master Labor Agreement for the Construction Industry
for the Six Basic Trades and the Sub-Trades hourly wage rates of the Building
and Construction Trades Unions affiliated with the Los Angeles Building and
Construction Trades Council. Said wage scales are on file in the office of
the City Clerk and hereby incorporated in and made a part of this Resolution.
SECTION 2. In accordance with the Labor Code, no workman employed
upon work under contract to the City shall be paid less than the above
prevailing rate.
SECTION 3. Resolution No. 3075, adopted January 28, 1975, establishing
previous wage rates, is hereby rescinded.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and shall file a certified copy thereof with the Director of
Industrial Relations of the State of California, pursuant to Section 1773.3
of the Labor Code.
