A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
ESTABLISHING A RECORDS RETENTION POLICY AND PROGRAM
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Records Retention
Permanent documents, records, and papers of the City required or
desired to be retained may be microfilmed in accordance with State law.
SECTION 2. Records Destruction
Subject to the provisions of Section 34090.5 of the Government Code
the original documents, records, or papers microfilmed pursuant to Section 1
can be destroyed.
• SECTION 3. Records Retention Program
The City Manager shall implement a Records Retention Program con-
n with State law, Sections 1 and 2 above, t , , and with the following
objectives:
A. Minimize the cost of public records retention and
storage.
B. Systemize public records accessibility.
C. Establish responsibility for custody of records.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
