A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ESTABLISH AN UNDERGROUND
UTILITY DISTRICT ALONG BROOKSHIRE AVENUE BETWEEN STEWART
AND GRAY ROAD AND MANATEE STREET, AND CAUSING ALL SPECIFIED
UTILITIES THEREIN TO BE RELOCATED UNDERGROUND (DISTRICT
NO. 7)
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and that
it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Downey to establish
an Underground Utility District and to order the removal of poles with their
related overhead wires and assorted overhead structures along Brookshire
Avenue between Stewart and Gray Road and Manatee Street, all in accordance
with the provisions of Chapter 5, Article VII of the City of Downey
Municipal Code.
SECTION 2. The Underground Utility District boundary and poles to be
removed shall be as shown on Plan No. 3 -2 -44 on file in the office of the
City Clerk. A description of the area is also on file in the office of the
City Clerk. By this reference, both the plan and the description are made
parts hereof.
SECTION 3. All work contemplated by the Resolution of Intention shall
be done in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5, containing Sections
7500 through 7510 of Article VII, of the City of Downey Municipal Code.
All improvements shall be completed by May 31, 1975, and the cost thereof
shall be paid for by the Utility Companies and properties benefited.
SECTION 4. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7501 of the City of
Downey Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Downey hereby sets
the hour of 7 :30 p.m., October 14,1974, as the time and the Council Chambers
at the City Hall of the City of Downey as the place for the hearing of
protests in relation to the proposed District.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing in the
manner provided in Section 7501 of the City of Downey Municipal Code.

City Council of the City of Downey, at a regular meeting thereof held on the
27 day of August , 1974, by the following vote:

SECTION 7. The Mayor is authorized and directed to execute the contract
with the Southern California Edison Company for the improvements in accordance
with the plans and specifications and in accordance with rates and rules filed
by said Company from time to time with the Public Utilities Commission of the
State of California.
SECTION 8. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution
and cause a certified copy thereof and the maps or plans of the district to be
filed with the assessor whose roll is used for the levy and with the State Board
of Equalization and further shall cause a copy of this resolution to be published
once in the Southeast News and Downey Champion.
