HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 3001 RESOLUTION NO. 3001 1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF QUINN STREET. V -116 1 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey, pursuant to the authority vested in said City Council by Section 8300 et seq. of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does hereby declare that it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Downey to vacate that portion of Quinn Street described as follows: A portion of the Rancho Santa Gertrudes being a portion of that land known as the "Pettis Tract ", in the City of Downey, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: That portion of the Northeasterly 56 feet of the Southwesterly 156 feet of the Northwesterly 100 feet of the land as described in the deed to the City of Downey, recorded August 2, 1960, as Instrument No. 2893, in Book D930, Pg. 546, Official Records of said County described as follows: Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of said land; thence along the Southeast line North 31° 48' 50" East 42 feet to the true point of beginning; thence continuing along said line North 31° 48' 50" East 14 feet to the Northeasterly corner of said land; thence North 58° 41' 36" West 40 feet to a point on the Northeasterly line of said land; thence South 39 20' 55" East 42.26 feet to the true point of beginning. SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Downey has determined that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of a public utility easement over the above described property and rights -of -way for structures enumerated in Section 8330 of said Streets and Highways Code and therefore all proceedings in the matter of this Street Vacation are taken subject to such reservation and exception. SECTION 3. The hour of 7 :30 p.m. on the 9th day of September, 1974, is hereby fixed as the time and the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 8425 East Second Street, Downey, California, is hereby fixed as the place for hearing all persons interested in the Vacation of said Street. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolution to be pub- lished in the manner prescribed in said Section 8322. SECTION 5. Notices of this proposed Vacation shall be posted in the manner prescribed in said Section 8322. SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
