HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2928 RESOLUTION NO. 2928 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY IN MEMORY OF DELLA DOYLE, THE FIRST CITY EMPLOYEE WHEREAS, Miss Della Doyle was born in Montgomery City, Missouri, in 1905 and passed away March 21, 1974; and WHEREAS, Miss Della Doyle was employed as City Clerk on December 17, 1956, upon incorporation of the City of Downey, and was the first person employed by the City Council; and WHEREAS, during the eleven years with the City of Downey, Miss Doyle served the City with loyalty and dedication to the numerous duties required of a City Clerk in setting up a new government. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That in memory of her outstanding service to the City of Downey from December 17, 1956 to her retirement January 1, 1968 that this Resolution be adopted; and SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and, as a record for history, cause it to be filed in the Official Book of Resolutions in the archives of this City.
