HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2762 RESOLUTION NO. 2762 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY REQUESTING THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMISSION TO ACT UPON THE APPLICATION FOR ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF NORWALK OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN THE CITY OF DOWNEY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey hereby requests the Local Agency Formation Commission to act upon the application filed concurrently herewith and to report upon the proposed annexation, de- annexation and boundaries and to consent to the relocation of the common boundary between the City of Downey and the City of Norwalk, so as to exclude from the City of Downey and to include in the City of Norwalk the following described property. PARCEL A - (Parcel of Land 200' wide adjacent to San Gabriel River) That portion of land in the City of Downey within Township 3 South Range 12 West of the Rancho Los Coyotes in the County of Los Angeles as recorded in Book 7425, Pages 20 and 21 of the Official Records of Los Angeles County, being a strip of land 200' wide bounded on the east by a line described as follows: Beginning at the northwesterly boundary corner of the City of Norwalk as it existed on its incorporation date on August 26, 1957, which is the intersection of the northwesterly prolongation of the southwesterly line of Lot 50 of Tract No. 16230, recorded in Book 382, Pages 44 to 48 of said Maps, and a line that is parallel and concentric with and distant 200 feet southeasterly, measured at right angles and radially, from the centerline of a strip of land, 400 feet wide, as said last mentioned centerline is described in Parcel 7 in Final Judgment in favor of the Los Angeles County Flood Control District entered in Case No 494541 of the Superior Court of the State of California, in and for the County of Los Angeles, a certified copy of which is recorded in Book 21373, Page 398, of said Official Records; thence southwesterly along said last mentioned parallel and concentric line to the most easterly corner of Parcel No. 2 as described in Final Judgment of Condemnation as entered in Case No. 327863 of the Superior Court of the State of California in and for said County; thence southwesterly along the southeasterly line of said last mentioned Parcel No. 2 to the most southerly corner thereof; thence southwesterly in a direct line to the most easterly corner of the parcel of land described in deed to the Los Angeles County Flood Control District recorded in Book 8114, Page 336 of said Official Records; thence southwesterly along the south- easterly line of said last mentioned parcel of land to the south- easterly corner thereof; thence southerly along the easterly line of the parcel of land described in deed to Los Angeles County Flood Control District, recorded in Book 9227, Page 279 of said Official Records to the southeasterly corner of said last mentioned parcel of land; thence southerly along the easterly line of the parcel of land described in deed to Los Angeles County Flood Control District recorded in Book 8145, Page 259 of said Official Records to the southeasterly corner of said last mentioned parcel of land; thence southerly along the easterly line of the parcel of land described in deed to Los Angeles County Flood Control District recorded in Book 9560, Page 75 of said Official Records to the southeasterly corner of said last mentioned parcel of land; thence southerly in a direct line to the northeasterly corner of Parcel 10 as described in Final Decree of Condemnation filed in Case No. 259963 of the Superior Court of the State of California in and for said County; Resolution No. 2762 Page 2 thence southerly along the easterly line of said Parcel 10 to the northeasterly corner of the Parcel of land described in deed to the Los Angeles County Flood Control District, recorded in Book 9665, Page 43 of said Official Records; thence southerly along the easterly line of said last mentioned parcel of land to the southeasterly corner of said last mentioned parcel of land, being a point in the northerly line of Foster Road (40 feet wide); thence southerly along the southerly prolongation of that certain course in said last mentioned easterly line described in said last mentioned deed as having a bearing of South 15 ° 36'00" East to the southerly line of Foster Road, said line being the southerly boundary line of the City of Downey. SECTION 2. Said property also is particularly described in that certain map attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and by this reference is made a part hereof. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution and cause a certified copy thereof to be filed with the Local Agency Formation Commission concurrently with the application to initiate proceedings for de- annexation and annexation.
