A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ESTABLISH AN UNDERGROUND
UTILITY DISTRICT ALONG PARAMOUNT BOULEVARD BETWEEN
SEVENTH STREET AND FLORENCE AVENUE, AND CAUSING ALL
SPECIFIED UTILITIES THEREIN TO BE RELOCATED UNDERGROUND
(DISTRICT NO. 4).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and that
it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Downey to establish
an Underground Utility District and to order the removal of poles with their
related overhead wires and assorted overhead structures along Paramount
Boulevard between Seventh Street and Florence Avenue, all in accordance
with the provisions of Chapter 5, Article VII of the City of Downey
Municipal Code.
SECTION 2. The Underground Utility District and poles to be removed
shall be as shown on Plan No. 2 -18 -347 on file in the office of the City
Clerk. The District is further described by legal description on file in
the office of the City Clerk. By this reference, the plan and legal
description are made parts hereof.
SECTION 3. All work contemplated by the Resolution of Intention shall
be done in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5, containing Sections
7500 through 7510 of Article VII, of the City of Downey Municipal Code.
All improvements shall be completed by March 30, 1973, and the cost thereof
shall be paid for by the Utility Companies and properties benefited.
SECTION 4. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7501 of the City of
Downey Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Downey hereby sets
the hour of 7:30 P.M., June 12,1972, as the time, and the Council Chambers
at the City Hall of the City of Downey as the place for the hearing of
protests in relation to the proposed District.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing in the
manner provided in Section 7501 of the City of Downey Municipal Code.
