A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF REGENTVIEW AVENUE
WHEREAS, by Resolution Number 2513 adopted March 23, 1971, the City
Council of the City of Downey declared its intention to vacate a portion
of Regentview Avenue as shown on map on file in the office of the City
Clerk, to which reference is made for further particulars; and
WHEREAS, the public hearing on said intended vacation was duly held
and a full and fair hearing was had thereon:
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey finds from the
evidence submitted at said hearing, that this area proposed for vacation
is not necessary for present or prospective street purposes and is therefore
ordered vacated; said area to be vacated is described as follows:
The easterly 30 feet of Regentview Avenue (formerly Downey Norwalk
Road) in Section 11, Township 3 South, Range 12 West, in the Rancho
Santa Gertrudes, in the City of Downey, in the County of Los Angeles,
State of California, bounded on the South by a line drawn at right
angles to the Centerline of said Avenue, which line passes through
a point in said Centerline distant South 0 ° 18'11" West thereon
425 feet from the centerline of Firestone Boulevard, (106 feet wide)
and bounded on the North by a line parallel with and distant south-
easterly 40 feet measured at right angles from a line that begins at
a point in the West line of said Section South 0 East thereon
30.45 feet from the Southwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of the
Northwest Quarter of said Section and bears North 68 ° 43'25" East
_ and passes through a point in the centerline of Regentview Avenue
(60 feet wide) distant South 0 ° 18'11" West thereon 182.94 feet from
the centerline of Firestone Boulevard (106 feet wide).
SECTION 2. The land hereinabove described is shown on Map No. 2 -17 -243
on file in the office of the City Clerk, to which reference is made for
further particulars.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Downey has determined
that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of
easements and rights -of -way for structures enumerated in Section 8330 of
said Streets and Highways Code and therefore all proceedings in the matter
of this Street Vacation are taken subject to such reservations and exceptions.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution and cause a certified copy thereof, attested by the City Clerk
under the seal of the City of Downey to be recorded in the Office of the
County Recorder of the County of Los Angeles.
