A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A
PORTION OF REGENTVIEW AVENUE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey pursuant to
the authority vested in said City Council by Section 8300 et seq. of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, does hereby
declare that it is the intention of the City Council of the City of
Downey to vacate that portion of:
The easterly 30 feet of Regentview Avenue (formerly Downey
Norwalk Road) in Section 11, Township 3 South, Range 12 West,
in the Rancho Santa Gertrudes, inthe City of. Downey, in the
County of Los Angeles, State of California, bounded on the
South by a line drawn at right angles to the Centerline of said
Avenue, which line passes through a point in said centerline
distant South 0 ° 18'11" West thereon 425 feet from the centerline
of Firestone Boulevard, (106 feet wide) and bounded on the North
by a line parallel with and distant southeasterly 40 feet measured
at right angles from a line that begins at a point in the West
line of said Section South 0 ° 06'15" East thereon 30.45 feet from
the Southwest corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest
Quarter of said Section and bears North 68'43'25" East and
passes through a point in the centerline of Regentview Avenue
(60 feet wide) distant South 0 ° 18'11" West thereon 182.94 feet
from the centerline of Firestone Boulevard (106 feet wide).
SECTION 2. The land hereinabove described is shown on Map
No. 2 -17 ®243 on file in the Office of the City Clerk, to which
reference is made for further particulars.
SECTION 3. The City Council of the City of Downey has
determined that the public convenience and necessity require the
reservation of easements and rights -of -way for structures enumerated
in Section 8330 of said Streets and Highways Code and therefore all
proceedings in the matter of this Street Vacation are taken subject
to such reservations and exceptions.
SECTION 4. The hour of 7:30 P.M. on the 12th day of Apri1,1971,
is hereby fixed as the time and the Council Chambers in the City
Hall as 8425 East Second Street, Downey, California, is hereby
fixed as the place, for hearing all persons interested in the
Vacation of said Avenue.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall cause this Resolution to be
published in the manner prescribed in Section 8322 of the said
Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 6. Notices of this proposed vacation shall be posted in
the manner prescribed in said Section 8322.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Resolution.
