A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DOWNEY FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT THE PUBLIC
INTEREST, CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE
ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY IN FEE SIMPLE TITLE
FOR PUBLIC GROUNDS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby finds, determines and declares
that the public interest, convenience and necessity require the acquisition
of the fee title in the hereinafter described real property for public grounds
and any and all uses appurtenant thereto.
That the location of the land for said use has been planned and located
in the manner which will be most compatible to the greatest public good and
the least private injury.
SECTION 2. That the City Council finds,determines and declares that, in
order to acquire said land for said purposes and use the same for said purposes,
the public interest, convenience and necessity require the acquisition by the
City of Downey of that certain real property hereinafter described, and the
City Council hereby declares that it is the intention of the City of Downey
to acquire in its name said hereinafter described real property by condemna-
tion in accordance with the provisions of the Code of Civil Procedure and
the Constitution of the State of California authorizing the exercise of the
right of eminent domain.
SECTION 3. That said real property, the acquisition of which is required
by the public interest, convenience and necessity for the purpose set forth
in Sections 1 and 2 hereof, is described as follows:
That portion of the westerly 25 feet of the easterly 30 feet of
Regentview Avenue (formerly Downey Norwalk Road) in Section 11,
Township 3 South, Range 12 West, in the Rancho Santa Gertrudes,
in the City of Downey, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
bounded on the south by the south line of the land described in the
deed to A.P.T. Company, recorded on January 25, 1960, as Document
No. 1556, in Book D -729, Page 354 of Official Records in the Office
of the County Recorder of said County and also by a line drawn at
right angles to the westerly line of said land from the southwesterly
corner of said land; and bounded on the north by a line that is
parallel with and southeasterly 40 feet (measured at right angles)
from a line that begins at a point in the west line of said Section,
South 0 ° 06'15" East thereon 30.45 feet from the southwest corner of
the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section and
bears North 68 ° 43'25" East and passes through a point in the center-
line of Regentview Avenue (60 feet wide) distant South 0 ° 18'11" West
thereon 182.94 feet from the centerline of Firestone Boulevard
(106 feet wide).
SECTION 4. That the City Attorney of the City of Downey and the
firm of Burke, Williams & Sorensen hereby are authorized, empowered
and directed to prepare, institute and prosecute in the name of the City
of Downey, such proceedings in the proper court having jurisdiction
thereof as are necessary for the condemnation of said real property de-
scribed in Section 3 of this Resolution.

SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly adopted by
the City Council of the City of Downey at a regular meeting thereof held
on the 22nd day of September , 1970, by the following vote of
the Council:
