A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DOWNEY REQUESTING PERMISSION FROM THE PUBLIC
UTILITIES COMMISSION TO CONSTRUCT A CROSSING
ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD TRACKS AT
GRADE ON STEWART AND GRAY ROAD IN DOWNEY,
CALIFORNIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City of Downey has recognized the need for the extension
of Stewart and Gray Road across the tracks to provide access to the Woodruff
Industrial Area, and provide relief in traffic volume and traffic safety from
Firestone Boulevard.
SECTION 2. The Public Works Director is hereby authorized to sign and
verify a request to the Public Utilities Commission for permission to open the
above grade crossing.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution and attach a certified copy of same for the Public Utilities
Commission.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 2 8th day of April, 1970.
