HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2257 RESOLUTION NO. 2257 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ESTABLISH AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT ALONG PARAMOUNT BOULEVARD AND ON CERTAIN CROSS STREETS BETWEEN THIRD STREET AND SEVENTH STREET, AND CAUSING ALL SPECIFIED UTILITIES THEREIN TO BE RELOCATED UNDERGROUND (DISTRICT NO. 3) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Downey to establish an Underground Utility District and to order the removal of poles and their related overhead wires and assorted overhead structures along Paramount Boulevard and on certain cross streets between Third Street and Seventh Street, all in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5, Article VII of the City of Downey Municipal Code. SECTION 2. The Underground Utility District and poles to be removed shall be as shown on Plan No. 2 -18 -262 on file in the office of the City Clerk. The District is further described by legal description on file in the office of the City Clerk. By this reference, the plan and legal description are made a part hereof. SECTION 3. All Work contemplated by the Resolution of Intention shall be done in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5 containing Sections 7500 through 7510 of Article VII of the City of Downey Municipal Code, all improvements shall be completed by January 1, 1970, and the cost thereof shall be paid for by the Utility Companies and properties benefited. SECTION 4. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7501 of the City of Downey Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Downey hereby sets the hour of 7 :30 p.m., August 11, 1969, as the time, and the Council Chambers at the City Hall of the City of Downey as the place for the hearing of protests in relation to the proposed District. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing in the manner provided in Section 7501 of the City of Downey Municipal Code. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 14 day of ul , 1969.
