HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 2221 RESOLUTION NO. 2221 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ESTABLISH AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY DISTRICT OF THE AREA FRONTING PARAMOUNT BOULEVARD BETWEEN SOUTHERN PACIFIC RAILROAD RIGHT -OF -WAY AND THIRD STREET, AND CAUSING ALL UTILITIES THEREIN TO BE RELOCATED UNDERGROUND (District #2) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Downey to es- tablish an Underground Utility District and to order the removal of poles, overhead wires and assorted overhead structures within the hereinafter designated area, all in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5, Article VII of the City of Downey Municipal Code. SECTION 2. The Underground Utility District shall be as shown on plan No. 2 -18 -255 on file in the office of the City Clerk, and as described by legal description which is on file in the office of the City Clerk and by this reference is made a part hereof. SECTION 3. All work contemplated by the Resolution of Intention shall be done in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 5 contain- ing Sections 7500 through 7510 of Article VII of the City of Downey Municipal Code, and all improvements shall be completed by January 1, 1970, and the cost thereof shall be paid for by the Utility Companies and properties benefited. SECTION 4. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7501 of the City of Downey Municipal Code, the City Council of the City of Downey hereby sets the hour of 7:30 p.m., May 12, 1969, as the time, and the Council Chambers at the City Hall of the City of Downey as the place for the hearing of protests in relation to the proposed District. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing in the manner provided in Section 7501 of the City of Downey Municipal Code. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of April , 1969.
