A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
APPROVING LEASE BETWEEN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON
COMPANY AND THE CITY OF DOWNEY AND AUTHORIZING THE
MAYOR TO SIGN AGREEMENT (DINWIDDIE STREET)
WHEREAS, the City of Downey is desirous of leasing approximately
2.15 acres of Southern California Edison Company land at Dinwiddie Street
and Rio Hondo Drive to be developed for park and recreation purposes;
and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Edison Company, through its
Property Management Section has agreed to lease this land to the City
for said development for a period of five (5) years commencing on
January 1, 1969, for a consideration of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)
per year; and
WHEREAS, under the City's comprehensive, bodily injury and property
damage liability insurance the Southern California Edison Company will
be held harmless for the use of this area for park and recreation
purposes by the City of Downey in the amounts of $100,000 for bodily
injury or death sustained by any one person arising out of any one
occurrence; $300,000 for bodily injury or death sustained by two or
more persons arising out of any one occurrence, and $100,000 for
property damage arising out of any one occurrence;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the Lease between the Southern California Edison
Company and the City of Downey be signed by the Mayor for the benefit
of the City of Downey in the City's park and recreation program.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 25th day of February, 1969.

regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Downey held on the
25th day of February , 1969, by the following vote:
