RESOLUTION NO. 77,/
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF STEWART
AND GRAY ROAD AT THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF STEWART AND
GRAY ROAD AND OLD RIVER SCHOOL ROAD.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey upon recommendation of
the Planning Commission hereby declares its intention to vacate that
portion of Stewart and Gray Road located at the Northeasterly corner
of Stewart and Gray Road and Old River School Road, as shown on
Exhibit "A" on file in the Office of the City Clerk, to which re-
ference is made for further particulars, this area to be vacated
being described as follows:
That portion of the Rancho Santa Gertrudes in the City of Downey,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows:
Beginning at the Southerly corner of Land described in Deed to the
City of Downey, recorded September 15, 1961, as Document 3955 in
Book D 1356, Page 648 in the Office of the County Recorder of said
County; thence North 56 ° 44'30" West along the Southwesterly line
of said Land 49.62 feet to the Westerly corner thereof and the true
point of beginning for this description; thence continuing
North 56 ° 44'30" West along the Northeasterly line of Stewart and
Gray Road 60 feet wide as described in said Deed 36.19 feet to the
beginning of a tangent curve concave Easterly and having a radius of
15.00 feet; thence Northerly along' said curve 22.70 feet to a point
of cusp with the Southeasterly line of Old River School Road as
described in Final Order of Condemnation recorded in Book 10292
Page 327 of Official Records in said Recorders Office; thence
South 29 ° 57' West thereon 1.85 feet to the beginning of a tangent
curve concave Easterly and having a radius of 17.00 feet; thence
Southerly thereon 27.58 feet to a point of tangency with the
Northwesterly prolongation of the Northeasterly line of said Land
described in Deed to the City of Downey; thence South 62 ° 59'15" East
thereon 32.92 feet to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2. The hour of 8:00 A.M. on the 23rd day of August, 1966, is hereby
fixed as the time and the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 8425
Second Street, Downey, California, is hereby fixed as the place for
hearing all persons interested in objecting to the proposed vacation of
said street.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall cause this resolution to be published in the
manner required by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California.
SECTION 4. Notices of the proposed vacation shall be posted in the manner
prescribed by said Section 8322.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
