RESOLUTION NO. 1662
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ABANDON THE DOWNEY COUNTY
LIGHTING DISTRICT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and it is

the intention of the City Council of the City of Downey to abandon the Downey
County Lighting District as shown on Drawing No. SL 4 on file in the office of
the City Clerk and concurrently with such abandonment proceedings to reinstate
the said District by annexation to the Downey City Lighting District as shall
be described in Resolution of Intention No. 1663 pursuant to the pro-
visions of Sections 18191 and 18192 of the Streets and Highways Code of the
State of California.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 18070 of said Streets
and Highways Code, the City Council of the City of Downey hereby appoints the
hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., December 13, 1965, in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall of said City as the time and place for hearing protests in relation
to the proposed abandonment.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing in the manner
provided in Section 18072 of said Streets and Highways Code, Publication of
such notice as required by Section 18072 of said Code shall be made in the
"Downey Leader", a newspaper published and circulated in the City and hereby
designated by said City Council for said purpose of publication.
SECTION 4. The Directof of Public Works of the City of Downey shall cause
to be conspicuously posted on all streets in the district where the abandonment
is proposed to be made at not more than 300 feet apart but not less than three
in all, notices of the passage of the Resolution as required by Section 18071
of said Streets and Highways Code.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Downey on the 23rd day of November,
by the following vote, to wit:
