HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1568 RESOLUTION NO. 1568 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DESIGNATING THE DAY AFTER THANSKGIVING AS A HOLIDAY. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That Part (a) of Section 5, Holidays of Procedure VI, Attendance and Leaves, of that certain document entitled "Downey Personnel Manual" as adopted by Resolution #803, be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: (a) Municipal offices shall be closed on the following days which have been designated as legal holidays for all proba- tionary and permanent employees in the City service: New Year's Day (January 1st); Lincoln's Birthday (February 12); Washington's Birthday (February 22); Memorial Day (May 30); Independence Day (July 4); Labor Day (1st Monday in. September); Veteran's Day (November 11); Thanksgiving Day (Last Thursday in. November); The day after Thanksgiving (Last Friday in November); Christman. Day (December 25); and Statewaid election . days in accordance with the provisions of the State Election Code. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday shall be observed. When a holiday falls on. Saturday, the preceding Friday shall be observed. SECTION 2, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 14th day of June, 1 •.
