A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DESIGNATING THE DAY AFTER THANSKGIVING AS A HOLIDAY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Part (a) of Section 5, Holidays of Procedure VI,
Attendance and Leaves, of that certain document entitled "Downey Personnel
Manual" as adopted by Resolution #803, be and the same is hereby amended to
read as follows:
(a) Municipal offices shall be closed on the following days
which have been designated as legal holidays for all proba-
tionary and permanent employees in the City service: New
Year's Day (January 1st); Lincoln's Birthday (February 12);
Washington's Birthday (February 22); Memorial Day (May 30);
Independence Day (July 4); Labor Day (1st Monday in. September);
Veteran's Day (November 11); Thanksgiving Day (Last Thursday
in. November); The day after Thanksgiving (Last Friday in
November); Christman. Day (December 25); and Statewaid election .
days in accordance with the provisions of the State Election
Code. When a holiday falls on Sunday, the following Monday
shall be observed. When a holiday falls on. Saturday, the preceding
Friday shall be observed.
SECTION 2, The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted by the
City Council of the City of Downey at a regular meeting held thereof on
the 14th day of June, 1965, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: 5 Councilmen: Corbin, Diekerson, Dunnum, Morton, Temple
NOES: 0
