HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1535 2350 RESOLUTION NO. 1535 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE AN EASEMENT FOR PIPE LINES, AND INCIDENTAL PURPOSES ACROSS PROPERTY LOCATED AT 10404 WESTERN AVENUE, ET AL., AS RECORDED IN BOOK 14344, PAGE 200, OF OFFICIAL RECORDS THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey hereby declares its intention to vacate an easement for pipe lines, and incidental purposes, across property located at 10404 Western Avenue, et al., as recorded in Book 14344, Page 200 of Official Records, as shown on attached map and on file in the office of the City Clerk, to which reference is made for fur- ther particulars, this area to be vacated being described as follows: That portion of the Rancho Santa Gertrudes, in the City of Downey, County of Los Angeles, State of California, described as follows: The northeasterly 30.00 feet of the following described property; Beginning at a point on the west line of the land conveyed by Deed recorded in Book 1094, Page 243 of Deeds, records of said county, distant thereon North 31 ° 20'00" East, 352.03 feet from the southwest corner thereof; thence along said west line, North 31 ° 20'00" East 84.09 feet; thence parallel with the north line of the Downey Home Tract, as per map recorded in Book 8, Page 90 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of said county, North 59 ° 03'10" West 263.07 feet to the northeast corner of the land con - ve y ed to G. F. Brownson b y Deed recorded in Book 1110, Page 65 of Deeds; thence along the east line of said land, South 25 West 84.41 feet; thence South 59 ° 03'10" East 255.04 feet to the point of beginning. SECTION 2. The hour of 7:30 P.M. on the 12th day of April, 1965, is hereby fixed as the time, and the Council Chamber in the City Hall at 8425 Second Street, Downey, California, is hereby fixed as the place for hearing all persons interested in objecting to the proposed vacation of said easement. SECTION 3. The City Council hereby declares that it elects to proceed with said proposed vacation under and pursuant to the provisions of Article 5, Division 1, Title 5 of the Government Code of the State of California (Sections 50430 et seq. of said code.) SECTION 4. The City Clerk hereby is directed to cause this resolution to be published for at least two successive weeks prior to the date of the hearing in the manner prescribed in Section 50440 of said Government Code and the Street Superintendent shall cause a copy of this resolution to be posted conspicuously along the line of the easement proposed to be vacated in the manner provided in Section 50441 of said code. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of March, 1965.
