A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF IMPERIAL
HIGHWAY AND PARAMOUNT BOULEVARD AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER
OF THE INTERSECTION OF IMPERIAL HIGHWAY AND PARAMOUNT
BOULEVARD, AS SHOWN ON TRACT NO. 14173
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey upon recommendation
of the Planning Commission hereby declares its intention to vacate that portion
of Imperial Highway and Paramount Boulevard located at the southeasterly
corner of the intersection of Imperial Highway and Paramount Boulevard, as
shown on Tract No. 14173 on map on file in the office of the City Clerk, to
which reference is made for further particulars, this area to be vacated
being described as follows:
Described as a portion of Tract No. 14173, in the City of Downey,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, dedicated for public

use, on Map recorded in Book 293, Pages 5 through 8 of Maps in

the office of the County Recorder of said county, described as fol-
lows:
Beginning at the northerly corner of Lot 2 of said Tract; thence
along the northeasterly line of said Lot and prolongation thereof,
South 59 ° 03'36" East 162.04 feet to the prolongation of the south-
easterly line of said Lot; thence North 32 ° 08'54" East thereon
32.01 feet to a line parallel with and 50.00 feet southwesterly,
measured at right angles from the centerline of Imperial Highway
as shown on said Map; thence North 59 ° 03 ° 36" West thereon 324.42
feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave southerly and
having a radius of 15.00 feet; thence westerly thereon 23.23 feet
to a point of tangency to a line parallel with and 50.00 feet
�-. southeasterly, measured at right angles from the centerline of
Paramount Boulevard as shown on said Map; thence South 32 ° 11'45"
West thereon 220.12 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve con -
cave easterly and having a radius of 15.00 feet; thence southerly
thereon 23.57 feet to a point of tangency to the prolongation of
the southwesterly line of Lot 1 of said Tract; thence South
57 ° 51'06" East thereon 15.00 feet to a point of cusp with that
certain tangent curve, concave easterly and having a radius of
15.00 feet shown on said Map as a portion of the boundary of said
Lot 1; thence along said curve and the northwesterly, northerly
and northeasterly boundaries of said Lot 1 to the point of begin-

SECTION 2. Pursuant to the authority of Section 8330 and 8331 of the
Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, the City Council
hereby determines that the public convenience and necessity require the
reservations of a permanent easement and right at any time, or from time
to time, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, and renew
sanitary sewers and appurtenant structures in, upon, over and across the street
or part thereof, proposed to be vacated, and maintain, operate, replace,
remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles and
other convenient structures and fixtures for the operation of gas pipe lines,
telegraph and telephone lines, and for the transportation and distribution of

electrical energy, water, and incidental purposes, including access and the
right to keep the property free flammable g p p p y ee from f ammab a materials and weed g rowth
and otherwise protect the same from all hazards, in, upon, and over that
portion of the street proposed to be vacated and described hereinabove. All
proceedings for the vacation of said street are taken and shall be subject
to the reservation of said described easement.
SECTION 3. The hour of 7:30 P.M. on the 12th day of April, 1965, is
hereby fixed as the time, and the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 8425
Second Street, Downey, California, is hereby fixed as the place for hearing
all persons interested in objecting to the proposed vacation of said street.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall cause this resolution to be published
in the manner required by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways Code of
the State of California.
SECTION 5. Notices of the proposed street vacation shall be posted
in the manner prescribed by said Section 8322.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
