HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1527 x ' '152 ,RESOLUTION NO. 1,157,--2 7 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF DOWNEY AVENUE AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE INTERSECTION OF DOWNEY AVENUE AND LEXINGTON ROAD THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey upon recom- mendation of the Planning Commission hereby declares its intention to vacate that portion of Downey Avenue at the southeast corner of the intersection of Downey Avenue and Lexington Road, as shown on the attached map on file in the office of the City Clerk to which reference is made for further particulars, this area to be vacated being described as follows: That portion of the Rancho Santa Gertrudes finally confirmed to James P. McFarland and John G. Downey, shown on map recorded in Book 1, Pages 156 et seq. of Patents in the office of the County Recorder of said county, described as follows: Beginning at a point in the southwesterly line of Lexington Road (formerly known as Lexington and Gallatin Road), as shown on County Surveyor's Map No. 7676, Sheet 1, on file in the office of the Surveyor of said county, being the northeasterly line of land described in Certificate of Title No. V -9962, on file in the office of the Registrar of Titles of said county, distant South 58 ° 39'00" East 326.07 feet from the most north- erly corner of the land described in said certificate; thence parallel with the northwesterly line of said land, South 31 ° 14'00" West 5.00 feet to a point in a line that is parallel with and distant 5.00 feet measured at right angles from the northeasterly line of said land; thence along said parallel line, North 58 ° 39'00" West 210.83 feet to the intersection of a nontangent curve concave to the south, having a radius of 125.00 feet, as described in deed to said county for road purposes recorded in Book 5880, Page 196 of Deeds, said intersection being on a radial line of said curve bearing North 15 ° 05'22" East, said intersection being also the true point of beginning; thence Southwesterly along said curve 99.26 feet through a central angle of 45 ° 29'55" to the intersection of a line that is parallel with and distant 40.00 feet measured at right angles from the centerline of Downey Avenue, as shown on said Map No. 7676, said intersection being on a radial line of said curve bearing North 30 ° 24'33" West; thence along said parallel line, North 31 ° 14'00" East 45.81 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave to the South having a radius of 15.00 feet; thence easterly along said curve 23.59 feet through a central angle of 90 ° 07'00" to a point of tangency with the aforementioned line that is parallel with and distant 5.00 fett measured at right angles from the Northeasterly line of said land; thence along said parallel line South 58 ° 39'00" East 60.21 to the true point of beginning. SECTION 2. The hour of 7:30 p.m. on thel2th day of April, 1965, is hereby fixed as the time, and the Council Chambers in the City Hall at 8425 Second Streit, Downey, California, is hereby fixed as the place for hearing all persons interested in objecting to the proposed vacation of said street. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall cause this resolution to be pub- lished in the manner required by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. Notices of the proposed vacation shall be posted in the manner prescribed by said Section 8322. c/c /a 4' -,LJkl SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
