A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DOWNEY APPROVING THE APPOINTMENT BY THE MAYOR OF
A MEMBER TO THE HOSPITAL DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION
+"-' WHEREAS, a vacancy will exist on the Hospital Development
Commission due to the resignation of Gene Hubbard, June 23,
19 64 .
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The appointment by the Mayor of the following
named person as a member of the Hospital Development Commission
for the following term is hereby approved:
Joe Case - term expiring June 30, 1966
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and shall transmit a certified copy thereof to
the appointee.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted
by the City Council of the City of Downey at a regular meeting thereof

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DOWNEY, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE
CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF SPECIAL BOND
ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY ON JUNE 2, 1964
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY, CALIFORNIA, DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That a special bond election was duly called and regularly
held in said city on the 2nd day of June, 1964, at which election there
was submitted to the qualified voters of said city the following propositions,
to wit:
HOSPITAL BONDS: Shall the City of Downey incur
a bonded indebtedness in the principal amount of
$4,000,000 for the purpose of the acquisition and con-
struction by said city of a certain municipal improve-
ment, to wit: a general hospital, including the
acquisition of all equipment and other property
necessary therefor? The City Council intends to pledge
the revenues of said municipal improvements to the
payment or security of such bonded indebtedness and the
interest thereon as provided in Article 4, Chapter 3,
Part 1, Division 2, Title 5 of the Government Code of
the State of California.
SECTION 2. That the returns of said election have been duly and regu-
larly canvassed as provided by law and all absentee ballots have been
canvassed as provided by law and that the result of such canvass has been
certified to this Council as follows:

SECTION 3. That the votes of less than two- thirds of all the
voters voting at said election upon said proposition were cast in
favor of the adoption of said bond proposition, and said bond proposi-
tion is hereby declared to have failed.
SECTION 4. That the City Clerk of this City is hereby directed to
enter this resolution in full in the minutes of this City Council.
