A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF
DOWNEY DETERMINING CERTAIN PROPERTY IN VEHICLE
PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1 NOT NECESSARY FOR PUBLIC
PARKING
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Parking Law of 1943,
the City of Downey acquired certain real property fronting upon Firestone
Boulevard for off - street parking; and
WHEREAS
certain portions of said property can be used for ur -

poses other than parking with more advantage to the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the air space above the real
property described in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and by this reference
made a part hereof commencing at _a distance of 20 feet above the present
ground level is not needed for public off - street parking; this finding is
made under and by virtue of the provisions of Section 31850 of the Streets
and Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 2. The Mayor is authorized to execute an agreement conveying
said air space to Greschner Investment Corporation upon the conditions
approved by the City Council and upon payment to the City of the sum of
$500.00.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Downey held on the 13th day of
July, 1964, by the affirmative vote of at least 5 councilmen, to wit:

That portion of Block 4 of the Tract of the Downey Land
Association, in the City of Downey, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, as per map recorded in Book
2, Page 434 of Miscellaneous Records, in the office of the
County Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the southeasterly corner of said Block 4;
thence northwesterly along the northeasterly line of the
right of way of the Southern Pacific Railroad Company,
340 feet; thence northeasterly parallel with the north-
westerly line of said block, 240 feet to a point to be
referred to as Point "A "; thence northwesterly parallel
with the southwesterly line of said block, 230 feet to the
southeasterly line of Crawford Street; thence northeasterly
along said southeasterly line of Crawford Street, 123 +
feet to the northeast corner of said Block 4; thence south -
easterly along the northeasterly line of said block, 230
feet to the true point of beginning; thence continuing
southeasterly along the northeasterly line of said block
to the northeasterly corner of said block; thence south-
westerly along the southeasterly line of said block, 125
feet; thence northwesterly parallel with the said north-
easterly line of said block, 285 feet; thence northeasterly
parallel with the southeasterly line of said block 2 feet,
more or less, to a point in a line parallel with the south-
westerly line of said block, and passing through Point "A ";
thence northwesterly along said last described parallel line,
55 feet, more or less, to Point "A "; thence northeasterly
along a line which is parallel with the northwesterly line
of said block 123 ± feet to the true point of beginning.
EXCEPT therefrom the northeasterly 40 feet thereof.
