A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF TRUE
AVENUE THAT IS APPROXIMATELY 110 FEET SOUTHERLY OF THE
INTERSECTION OF TRUE AVENUE AND METRO STREET AND LYING
EASTERLY OF A LINE THAT IS PARALLEL WITH AND THIRTY
FEET EASTERLY OF THE CENTERLINE OF TRUE AVENUE.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey, upon recommendation •
of the Planning Commission, declares its intention to vacate a portion of True
Avenue lying easterly of the street which is being used by the public and is
shown on the attached copy of the map on file in the Office of the City Clerk
to which reference is made for further particulars.
The public right -of -way proposed to be vacated is described as follows:
That portion of True Avenue as shown on the map of Tract 16672, in the
City of Downey, County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map
recorded in Book 598, pages 27 to 29 inclusive of Maps, in the office of the
County Recorder of said county lying easterly of the following described line:
Beginning at a point in the centerline of said True Avenue that is north
31 26' 45" east 337.80 feet from the centerline intersection of said True
Avenue and Brookpark Road 60.00 feet wide as shown on the map of said Tract
16672, thence north 31° 26' 45" east 114.58 feet to the true point of
beginning; thence north 5 o 23' 24" east along a line that is parallel with and
30.00 feet easterly measured at right angles from the centerline of said True
Avenue to a point on a curve concave easterly and having a radius of 54.11
feet that is concentric with and 30.00 feet easterly measured along a radial
line from the centerline of said True Avenue.
RESERVING UNTO THE CITY OF DOWNEY an easement to install, operate, maintain,
repair, replace, alter and remove water distribution facilities and
appurtenances in, under and across said land.
ALSO RESERVING UNTO THE CITY OF DOWNEY an easement to install, operate,
maintain, repair, replace, alter and remove sanitary sewer facilities in,
under and across said land.
ALSO RESERVING UNTO-SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY an easement to install,
operate, maintain, alter, replace, repair and remove facilities for

transmission of electric energy, communications and other purposes in, under,
over and across said land.
ALSO RESERVING UNTO GENERAL TELEPHONE COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA (GTE) an easement
to install, operate, maintain, alter, repair, replace and remove facilities
for transmission of communications, electric energy and other purposes, in,
under, over and across said land.

hereby fixed as the time, and the City Council Chambers in the City Hall at
11111 Brookshire Avenue, Downey, California, 90241, is fixed as the place for
hearing all persons interested in the proposed vacation of said street.
SECTION 3. Notices of the proposed vacation shall be posted and /or
published in the manner prescribed by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
