HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 1345 ,' w RESOLUTION NO. 1345 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY AUTHORIZING ADDITIONAL CONTRIBUTION TO ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO, 66- VEHICLE PARKING DISTRICT NO.1. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Downey in initially forming Vehicle Parking District No.1, was of the opinion that such additional parking would be of benefit not only to the property owners within the District, but to the City at large by reason of generating additional sales tax, and WHEREAS, in accordance with financial reports from the City's Finance Department, it is apparent that sales taxes within the City have increased substantially, and will continue to do so, and, WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that such increase is due at least in part to the additional off - street parking from the overall program as set forth by the City Council, and, WHHE , it appears proper that there be a further contribution from the GeneiFund to the Vehicle Parking District - thus spreading the cost of supporting the benefits derived from the program on a City -wide basis, PP g P g NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That there be further contribution of $90,315.00 from the General Fund to Vehicle Parking District No. 1, Assessment District No. 66, and the Superintendent of Streets hereby is directed to modify the Assessment Roll by showing such contribution and reducing the total amount to be assessed against properties within the said District by said sum of $90,315.00, and reducing each individual assessment by its pro rata amount, to wit 15 %. SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolu- tion and thence forth the same shall be in full force and effect. APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 10th day of March, 1964.
