A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY OPPOSING SENATE BILL 38 - PARKING METER REVENUES WHEREAS, Senate Bill #38 as introduced by Senator Geddes of the Transportation Committee provides that parking meter revenues of any city or county shall be used to provide public offstreet parking facilities and excepts revenues made available for the payment of any offstreet parking revenue bonds prior to effective date of section; and WHEREAS, said revenues from parking meters, either off or on- street should not be confined only to the provision of public offstreet parking due to the need for maintenance of existing parking lots at parking meters or other revenue installations; and WHEREAS, it is felt this type of legislation is an encroachment upon local governmental rights which should be reserved to the munici- palities of the State. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby opposes Senate Bill #38 as introduced. SECTION 2.
