A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF FARM
STREET AND MYRTLE STREET AS SHOWN ON TRACT NO. 21227
-- THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Downey, upon recommenda-
tion of the Planning Commission, hereby declares its intention to vacate
that portion of Farm Street and Myrtle Street as shown on a map on file in
the office of the City Clerk, to which reference is made for further
particulars; said area to be vacated being described as follows:
All that portion of Farm Street, Myrtle Street and public alleys
as shown on Tract No. 21227 and recorded in Map Book No. 620,
Page 41 in the Office of the County Recorder, County of Los Angeles,
State of California.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to the authority of Section 8330 and 8331 of
the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, the City Council
hereby determines that the public convenience and necessity require the
reservations of a permanent easement and right at any time, or from time
to time, to construct, maintain, operate, replace, remove, and renew storm
drains, sanitary sewers, and appurtenant structures in, upon, over and across
the street or part thereof, proposed to be vacated, and maintain, operate,
replace, remove, renew and enlarge lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires,
poles and other convenient structures and fixtures for the operation of gas
pipe lines, telegraph and telephone lines, and for the transportation and
distribution of electrical energy, water, and incidental purposes,
including access and the right to keep the property free from flammable
materials and weed growth, and otherwise protect the same from all hazards
in, upon, and over that portion of the street proposed to be vacated, and
described as follows:
That portion Myrtle o tion of rtle Street 60.00 feet wide, as dedicated

by and shown on the map of Tract No. 21227 recorded in Book 620,
Pages 40 and 41 of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, within a
strip of land 20.00 feet in width, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the southwesterly line of said Tract No.
21227 that is South 59 ° 06'50" East 19.10 feet thereon from the
most southerly corner of Lot 8 of said tract; thence North
32 ° 29'50" East 187.55 feet; thence North 31 ° 54'51" East 261.83
feet to a point in the northeasterly line of said tract that is
South 58 ° 40'42" East 21.00 feet thereon from the most easterly
corner of Lot 14 of said tract; thence along the northeasterly
line of said tract, South 58 ° 40'42" East 20.00 feet; thence
South 31 ° 54'51" West 262.14 feet; thence South 32 ° 29'50" West
187.09 feet to a point in the southwesterly line of said Myrtle
Street; thence thereon North 59 ° 06'50" West 20.01 feet to the
point of beginning.
All proceedings for the vacation of said street are taken and shall
be subject to the reservation of said described easement.
SECTION 3. The hour of 7:30 P.M. on the llth day of February, 1963,
is hereby fixed as the time, and the Council Chambers in the City Hall,
at 8425 Second Street is hereby fixed as the place for hearing all persons
interested in objecting to the proposed vacation of said street.

SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall cause this resolution to be pub-
lished in the manner required by Section 8322 of the Streets and Highways
Code, State of California.
SECTION 5. Notices of the proposed vacation shall be posed in the
manner prescribed by Section 8322.
SECTION 6. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.

City Council of the City of Downey at a regular meeting held thereof on the
