RESOLUTION NO./ &
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ABANDON THE DOWNEY CITY
LIGHTING DISTRICT
WHEREAS,the City Council of the City of Downey on the 26th day
of January, 1960, approved and adopted Resolution No. 565 ordering
certain lighting fixtures, appurtenances, and appliances on certain
streets and public places of said City to be maintained and electric
current to be furnished all in accordance with the Preliminary Report
filed with the City Clerk on December 22, 1959;
WHEREAS, the said Resolution 565 set the period of improvement
for three years ending the 31st day of March of 1963;
WHEREAS, the City Council declares its intention to continue the
maintenance and energy services provided for by Resolution 565 beyond
the 31st day of March of 1963;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and
it is the intention of the City Council of the City of Downey to abandon
the Downey City Lighting District as described by Resolution No. 565, and
concurrently with such abandonment proceedings to reinstate the Downey City
District as shall be described by the Resolution of Intention No. .'G 7 ,
pursuant to the provisions of Sections 18191 and 18192 of the Street
Lighting Act of 1919.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution, and thenceforth the same shall be in full force and effect.
