The said City Council hereby does reaffirm its original position as heretofore expressed. SECTION 2. That the public necessity and convenience require that the Congress of the United States consider and adopt appropriate legislation for the return of the " Cheli Air Force Base" to the Chanslor Western Oil Company for the reason that the same has already been zoned for heavy industrial use in keeping with all of the surrounding land. SECTION 3. That this City Council does hereby respectfully submit and urge that the Congress of the United States enact appropriate legislation in accordance with the principles as set forth in this Resolution to return the "Cheli Air Force Base" to its former owners, the Chanslor Western Oil Company; and they particularly request that Senators Thomas H. Kuchel and Clair Engle and Congressmen Clyde Doyle, Chet Hollifield and Harry B. Sheppard expend their best efforts for the adoption of said legislation. 1475 Y SECTION 4.
