A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
APPOINTING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING PROTESTS TO THE
PROPOSED IMPROVEMENT DESCRIBED IN RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. ?(:
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Downey, by Resolution No.
a report pursuant to the provisions of the Street Lighting Act of 1919
(Part 1 of Division 14 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of Calif-
ornia) as provided by Section 18040 of said Streets and Highways Code; and
WHEREAS, said report has been so prepared and filed with the City Clerk;
and
WHEREAS, the City Council, by Resolution No. 9;/, declared its inten-
tion to order the improvemen•'described in said report, said resolution being
adopted on the ,, 7 day of /, ! , 1961.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 18070 of said Streets
and Highways Code, the City Council of the City of Downey hereby appoints the
hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., January 8, 1962, in the Council Chambers in the
City Hall of said city as the time and place for hearing protests in relation
to the proposed improvement.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing in the
manner provided in said Part 1, Division 14 of said Streets and Highways Code.
The publication of such notice, as required by section 18072 of said Code,
shall be made in the "Downey Live Wire ", a newspaper published and circulated
in the City and hereby designated by said City Council for said purpose of
publication.
SECTION 3. The Director of Public Works of the City of Downey shall cause
to be conspicuously posted along all streets in the district where the improve-
ment is proposed to be made or which is to be assessed for the benefits thereof,
at not more than 300 feet apart but not less than three in all, notices of the
passage of the resolution as required by Section 18071 of said Streets and
Highways Code.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution,
and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
