RESOLUTION NO. 901
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
PROPOSING TO CHANGE THE WORK IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 55
(DUNROBIN AVENUE AND OTHER STREETS)
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 828 of the City Council of the
City of Downey certain plans and specifications were approved
and adopted. Said plans and specifications being identified
respectively as follows: 1 -14 -11 and AD No. 55; and
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 831 of said City Council said
Council declared its intention to order the work as described
in said resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has been advised by the City
Engineer, Street Superintendent, and Sanitation Engineer that
certain changes in said plans should be made;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The said City Council hereby proposes to change
the workk described in said plans and specifications and the work
described and set forth in Resolution No. 831 as hereinafter set
forth.
Said work shall be changed in the following respects:
(1) That the work to be done, as described in Section
1 of the Resolution of Intention, Resolution No.
831, and as ordered by Resolution No. 882, be
corrected and modified to be as follows:
"Dunrobin Avenue between Spry Street and Washburn
Crossing Road;
The northerly side of Spry Street between a point
132.01 feet + easterly of the center line of
Eastbrook Avenue and a point 160 feet + west of
the center line of Dunrobin Avenue;
Eastbrook Avenue between Washburn Crossing Road
and Spry Street;
The westerly side of Deming Avenue between a point
358.62 feet southerly of the center line of
Gardendale Avenue and a point 995.74 feet +
southerly of the center line of Gardendale Avenue;
The easterly side of Deming Avenue between
Gardendale Avenue and a point 971.61 feet
southerly of the center line of Gardendale
Avenue;
The southerly and easterly side of Castana
Avenue between Deming Avenue and Reydon Street;
The norther=ly and westerly side of Castana
Avenue between Deming Avenue and a point 490.14
feet s south of the center line of Deming Avenue;
The northerly side of Reydon Street between
Castana Avenue and a point 80.73 feet + easterly
of the center line of Castana Avenue;
by the construction of cement concrete sidewalks and
appurtenant work thereto.
The southerly side of Washburn Crossing Road
between a point 131.98 feet + east of the center
line of Eastbrook Avenue and — a point 160 feet 4
west of the center line of Dunrobin Avenue;
by the construction of cement concrete sidewalks and a
driveway apron and appurtenant work thereto.
(2) That the specifications for said work, Assessment
District No. 55, Specifications,be corrected and
modified as follows:
(a) That the following plan be added to sub-
- section (c) of Section 9, Article III:
Standard Residential Driveway (Parkway width
8' -0" or more) - Drawing No. 10.
(b) That sub - section (e) of Section 9, Article
III be omitted.
(c) That numbered paragraph 2 of sub-section (h)
of Section 9, Article III be amended to read
as follows:
2 and 3. Cement Concrete Sidewalks and
Cement Concrete Driveway (Residential):
Cement concrete sidewalks and cement concrete
driveway shall be constructed in accordance
with the applicable articles specified in
Section 22 of the Standard Specifications for
the City of Downey.
The work included in this item shall consist
of excavation and all work necessary for the
construction of cement concrete sidewalks and
a cement concrete driveway shown on the
construction plans.

Said documents so modified, and each of them, to be filed
in the office of the City Engineer of said City and which said
documents as proposed to be modified are now on file in said
office and shall be, and are, open and available for inspection.
■•■ It is estimated that the proposed changes will not increase
or decrease the cost of the work.
SECTION 2. Notice hereby is given that on the 28th day of
November, 1961, at 8:00 a.m. any person interested in the proceed-
ings referred to in said Resolution No. 831 and having any
objections to the changes proposed herein may appear before said
City Council and show cause why said changes should not be
ordered, and any person interested may file written objections
to the proposed changes with the City Clerk at any time not later
than the date of the hearing.
The City Clerk hereby is directed to publish this resolution in
the "Downey Live Wire" at least once, the first publication to be at
least ten (10) days prior to the date of the above hearing.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this resolution and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be
in full force and effect.
