RESOLUTION NO. 544
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY
SETTING THE TINE AND PLACE FOR HEARING ON THE ACQUISION
OF NECESSARY RIGHTS OF WAY, CONSTRUCTION OF CURES, GUTTERS,
AND PAVEMENT IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 14 (BENEDICT AVENUE)
WHEREAS, proceedings have been instituted for this improvement under
the provisions of Division 12, Streets and Highways Code of the State of Calif
ornia, said division being the Municipal Improvement Act of 1913; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 542, being the Resolution of Intention for
this improvement, duly was adopted by the City Council of the City of Downey
on January 12th, 1960; and
WHEREAS, the report called for in said Resolution of Intention has
been duly propared and filled with the City Clerk of the City of Downey; and
WHEREAS, said report duly has been presented to and duly considered
by this City Council on January 12th, 1960;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the 9th day of February, 1960, at the hour of 8 :00
o'clock A.M. of said day, in the Council chambers in the City Hall of said
city located at 8425 Second Street, in said city, is the date, time, and place
fixed by this City Council ofr hearing protests in relation to the proposed
improvement.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk, being the Clerk of the legislative body,
hereby is directed to give notice of said hearing to to poseted conspicuously
on all open streets within the district at not more than 300 feet apart on
each street so posted, byt not less than three in all, notices of the passage
of the Resolution of Intention and of this resolution, all in accordance with
the provisions of said Division 12.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk hereby is directed to give notice of
said hearing and of the passage of the Resolution of Intention and of this
resolution by causing such notice to be published once a week for two successive
, weeks in the "Downey Live Wire," a newspaper published and circulated in the City
of Downey, which newspaper hereby is designeated by said Council for that purpose,
all in accordance with the provisions of said Division 12.
{ SECTION 4. That the City Clerk herby is directed to mail notices of
said hearing, the adoption of the Resolution of Intentikhn, and the adoption of
this resolution, and of the filing of the report, to all persons owning real
property proposed to be assessed whose names and addresses appear on the last
equalized assessment roll for city taxes, said roll being, the same as the last
equalized assessment roll of the County of Los Angeles, or as known to the City
Clerk, all in accordance with the provisions of said Division 12.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
