HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 470 t RESOLUTION NO. 2 7� RESOLUTION DETERMINING GENERAL NATURE OF WORK AND ORDERING REPORT OF STREET SUPERINTENDENT FIRESTONE BOULEVARD IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 20 BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Downey, California in regular session assembled this 20th day of August, 1959 that certain improvements are proposed to be done and made within the boundaries of the proposed assessment district hereinafter described within said City of Downey, California. In connection therewith, said City Council hereby finds and determines as follows, to-wit: 1. The nature of the proposed improvement, con- sisting of the following described work, upon the grades, along the lines, between the points, of the dimensions, at the places, in the manner and of the materials shown on the plans, profiles and detailed drawings for said improvement, and in accordance with the specifications for said improve- ment heretofore approved and adopted by said City Council and on file in the office of the City Clerk of said city, to which plans, profiles, detailed drawings and specifications reference is hereby made for further and more particular description of said work, the manner of its execution and the material to be used therein, is described as follows: (a) The construction and installation of an ornamental electric lighting system, including trenching, back - filling, conduit and wiring, ornamental standards with globes and light bulbs, concrete bases, pull boxes, appurtenances and appurtenant work, in and along: -1- 9 y 680 (1) 2nd Street from a point therein 5 feet west of the westerly right of way line of La Reina Avenue to Brookshire Avenue. (2) 3rd Street from a point therein 5 feet west of the westerly right of way line of La Reina Avenue to existing power pole number 899029E, located in 3rd Street, 160 feet east of the easterly right of way line of Dolan Street. n. Boulevard from a 3 Firesto oint 25 feet Firestone (3) P west of the westerly right of way line of Paramount Boulevard to a point in Firestone Boulevard 10 feet east of the easterly right of way line of Brookshire Avenue, the existing standards at the Paramount Boulevard and Dolan Street intersections to remain in place, subject to modifications. (4) Myrtle Avenue from Firestone Boulevard to 2 477E in Myrtle Avenue existing power pole number 11 8 Myr e , 126 feet south of the center line of Firestone Boulevard. (5) La Reina Avenue from a point therein 10 feet south of the southerly right of way line of Firestone Boulevard to a point in La Reina Avenue 7 feet south of the northerly right of way line of 3rd Street. (6) New Street from 3rd Street to a point in New Street, 92 feet north of its intersection with the northerly right of way line of Firestone Boulevard. (7) Downey Avenue from its intersection with the northerly right of way line of Firestone Boulevard to a point in Downey Avenue 160 feet south of the southerly right of way line of Firestone Boulevard. (8) Dolan Street from 2nd Street to a point in Dolan Street, 7 feet south of the northerly right of way line of 3rd Street. (9) Brookshire Avenue at its intersection with 2nd Street and with Firestone Boulevard. (b) The construction and installation of electric traffic signals, together with appurtenances and appurtenant work, upon the electric standards hereinabove referred to upon Firestone Boulevard at its intersections with Paramount Boulevard, La Reina Avenue, Downey Avenue, Dolan Street and Brookshire Avenue, -2- 1 681 existing traffic signals at any of said intersections to remain in place, subject to modification. 2. The location and extent of said proposed im- provements will involve the construction of the above described improvements upon the streets as hereinbefore set forth. 3. The boundaries of the district to be specially assessed to pay any part of the cost of the proposed improve- ments are as shown upon a map or plat on file in the office P of the City Clerk of said city, which said map or plat indi- cates by a boundary line the territory to be included in the proposed assessment district, and which said map or plat governs for all details as to the extent of said proposed district; said map or plat is designated "CITY OF DOWNEY- MAP SHOWING THE EXTENT OF THE TERRITORY TO BE INCLUDED IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 20." 4. The statute or law under which it is proposed to conduct proceedings for said improvement is the Improve- ment Act of 1911 of the State of California, Division 7 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, with improvement bonds to be issued pursuant to the pro- visions of said Improvement Act of 1911. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Superintendent of Streets of said city be, and he hereby is directed to prepare a written report containing all of the information required by Section 2825 Streets and Highways Code of the State of California upon the proposed improvement. Said Street Superintendent is hereby authorized to employ such clerical -3- ry 682 assistance as shall be necessary in compiling the infor- mation required in said report.
