RESOLUTION NO. 07S
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DOWNEY DECLARING CERTAIN WEEDS GROWING UPON
AND CERTAIN REFUSE AND RUBBISH UPONCERTAIN
LANDS WITHIN THE CITY OF DOWNEY TO BE A PUBLIC
NUISANCE.
WHEREAS, there are weeds growing upon certain private property here-

inafter described with the City of Downey, which weeds bear seeds of a
wingy or downy nature, or attain such a large growth as to become a fire
menace when dry and which weeds are otherwise noxious and dangerous; and
WHEREAS, upon certain private property in the City of Downey, which
property hereinafter is described, there is an accumulation of rubbish,
refuse, and dirt which constitute a nuisance.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Downey does resolve
as follows:
SECTION 1. That all weeds growing upon that certain private property
within the City of Downey, which property hereafter is described, and
which weeds bear seeds of a wingy or downy nature and attain or have at-
tained such a large growth as to become a fire menace when dry, and which
weeds otherwise are noxious and dangerous, hereby are declared to be a
public nuisance, and all rubbish, refuse and dirt accumulated upon said
hereinafter described property hereby is declared to be a public nuisance.
THAT the names of the streets and descriptions of the properties in the
City of Downey upon which or in front of which said nuisance exist are as
follows:

SECTION 2. That the Street Superintendent be and he hereby is authorized
and directed to cause a notice to be conspicuously posted in front of said
described property on which said above described nuisance exists. The notice
shall be in the form, and shall be posted in the manner and pursuant to the
powers and authority contained in Section 39560 through 39586 of the Govern -
ment Code of the State of California.
SECTION 3. The time for hearing objections to the proposed removal of the
weeds, rubbish refuse and dirt, shall be February 10, 1959, at the hour of 8:00
a.m. in the Council Chambers in the City Hall of said City, at which time all
persons objecting to said proposed removal of weeds, rubbish, refuse and dirt
may appear and be heard.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
