Home My WebLink AboutResolution No. 264 364 RESOLUTION NO.- A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY ADOPTING THE ANNUAL BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR COMMENCING JULY 1, 1958 AND , FIXING THE LIMITATIONS OF EXPENDITURES FOR THE SEVERAL FUNDS, FUNCTIONS,, DEPARTMENTS AND ACTI- VITIES CARRIED ON WNW SUCH FUNDS. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The proposed budget of expenditures duly submitted and con- sidered, together with any supplemental revisions or amendments, is hereby approved, adopted, and fixed as the annual budget of the City of Downey for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 1958 and ending June 30, 1959 and in the amount, and for the funds, purposes, functions, departments, and activities as hereinafter set forth, said adopted budget (Exhibit A) including said sup- plementary revisions and amendments together with a copy of this appropriation resolution shall be duly authenticated by the City Clerk and same shall be placed in the official files in the office of the City Clerk. SECTION 2. There is hereby appropriated out of the treasury of the City of Downey for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1958 for the General Fund the aggregate sum of 41,875,316, appropriated and restricted for the functions, departments , andlor activities .hereinafter set -forth in the amounts shown. There is hereby appropriated out of the treasury of the City of Downey for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1958 for the Special Gas Tax Fund the aggregate sum of $428,400 appropriated and restricted for the functions, departments and /or activities hereinafter set forth in the amount shown as follows: 604110 Public Works - Street Construction (Major) 428400 SECTION 5. There is hereby appropriated out of the treasury of the City of Downey for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1958 for the County Aid to Cities ^ Fund the aggregate sum of $87213 appropriated and restricted for the functions, departments and /or activities hereinafter set forth in tha amount shown as follows: 8 -4120 Street Construction (Major & Secondary) 87213 F . SECTION 6. There is hereby appropriated out of the treasury of the City of Downey for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1958 for the Equipment Replace- ment Fund the aggregate sum of $3900 appropriated and restricted for the func= tions, departments and /or activities hereinafter set forth in the amount shown as follows: 16 -7500 Equipment Replacement $ 3900 SECTION 7. The appropriations hereinbefore set forth shall constitute the maximum expenditure authorized for the function, department and/or activity opposite which the amount of such appropriation is shown. SECTION 8. No warrant shall be issued or indebtedness incurred which exceeds the unexpended balance of the activity appropriations hereinbefore authorized unless such appropriations shall have been amended by a supplemental appropriation duly enacted by this Council by motion or resolution. SECTION 9. The City Manager is hereby authorized to make budgetary re- visions within an activity appropriation if in his opinion such a revision is necessary or proper. SECTION 10. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to transfer monies in accordance with the Inter -Fund Transfers as listed in the budget in . such amounts and at such times during the fiscal year as he may determine nec- essary to the competent operation and control of City business; except that no suchtransfer shall be made in contravention to State Law or City Ordinance or exceed in total amount stated herein or as amended by the City Council. SECTION 11. The City Council does hereby authorize and approve the num- ber and classification of employees in the respective functions, departments and/ or activities as set forth in Exhibit A. SECTION 12. One certified copy of this appropriation resolution, together with a certified copy of each amendment thereto, shall be transmitted by the Clerk of the Council to the Director of Finance. SECTION 13. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
