RESOLUTION NO. O
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DOWNEY FINDING DETERMINING. THAT THE PUBLIC_
INTEREST, CONVENIENCE, AND NECESSITY REQUIRE THE
ACQUISITION IN FEE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY FOR PUBLIC
BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby finds, deter-
mines, and declares that the public interest and necessity require
the acquisition of the fee title to the hereinafter described real
property for public buildings and gounds and appurtenances thereto.
That the location of the land for said public buildings
and grounds and appurtenances thereto has been planned and located
in the manner which will be most compatible to the greatest public
good and least private injury.
SECTION 2. That the City Council hereby finds, determines,

and declares that, in order to construct and use said public build-
ings and grounds, the public interest, convenience, and necessity
require the acquisition by the City of Downey of the fee title in
and to certain land hereinafter described, and the City Council
hereby declares it is the intention of the City of Downey to
acquire in its name the said hereinafter described real property
by • condemnation, in accordance with the provisions of the Code of
Civil Procedure and the Constitution of the State of California
authorizing the exercise of the rights of eminent domain.
SECTION 3. That said real property, the acquisition of
the fee title of which is required by the public interest, conveni-
ence, and necessity for the purposes set forth in Sections 1 and 2
hereof, is. described as follows:

part of the tract of the Downey Land Association,
commonly called and known as Lot 11 and the easterly 50
feet (as measured along the front and back lines) of
Lot 9, Block 7 of said tract, in the City of Downey,
County of Los Angeles, State of California, as per map
recorded in Book 2, page 434, Miscellaneous Records, in

the office of the County Recorder of said County. The
map of the Downey Land Association Tract, as recorded,
shows no subdivision of Block 7 into lots, but the or-
iginal map shows said block to be 570 feet by 300 feet
and subdivided into lots identical with Blocks 9 and 10
shown on the recorded map.
SECTION 4. That the City Attorney of the City of Downey
and Burke, Williams & Sorensen hereby are authorized, empowered,
and directed to prepare, institute, and prosecute, in the name of
the City of Downey, such proceedings, in the proper court having
jurisdiction thereof, as are necessary for the condemnation of the
fee title of said real property described in Section 3 of this
resolution, in the name of said City.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.
