RESOLUTION NO. 2 /&
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DOWNEY ESTABLISHING A PRIORITY FOR STORM
DRAIN CONSTRUCTION WITHIN THE PROPOSED STORM
DRAIN BOND ISSUE PRESENTLY UNDER CONSIDERATION
BY THE LOS ANGELES COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIE CITY OF DOWNEY DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The Downey City Council in supporting the County Board of
Supervisors in their proposed 1958 Storm Drain Bond Issue herewith establishes
an order of priority for the construction thereof, as listed hereinafter and
depicted on the attached exhibit "A":
PRIORITY A.
Florence - Lemoran Drain, consisting of the following:
a. No. 33-609 along Florence Avenue, from the San
Gabriel River to Haledon Avenue.
b. No. 33-608D along Florence Avenue from Haledon
Avenue to Lakewood Boulevard.
c. No. 33-60-8 from Florence Avenue along Haledon
Avenue and Lemoran Avenue to the Santa Ana Freeway.
Firestone - Woodruff Drain, consisting of the following:
a. A portion of No. 33-606 from the San Gabriel River
to Woodruff Avenue.
Bellflower - Imperial Highway Drain, consisting of the following:
•—•,‘ a. A portion of No. 33-700 along Bellflower Boulevard
from Foster Road to Imperial Highway.
b. A portion of No. 33-710 along Imperial Highway from
Bellflower Boulevard to Dunrobin Avenue.
Myrtle - 5th Street Drain, consisting of the following:
a. A portion of No. 32-50 along Myrtle Street and 5th
Street from Firestone Boulevard to Western Avenue.
b. No. 33-502 along 5th Street from Western Avenue to
La Reina Avenue.
PRIORITY B.
Bellflower - Brookshire Drain, consisting of the following:
a. A portion of No. 33-700 along Bellflower, Buckles,
Lakewood Boulevard, Clete Street, and Brookshire
Avenue, from Imperial Highway to Second Street.
Parimount - Imperial Highway Drain, consisting of the following:
a. A portion of No. 32-501 along Paramount Boulevard
from Gardendale Street to Imperial Highway.

b. A portion of No. 32-501G along Imperial Highway from
Paramount Boulevard to Downey Avenue.
PRIORITY C.
Clark - Downey Avenue Drain, consisting of the following:
a. A portion of No. 33-705 along Clark Avenue, Lakewood
Boulevard, Alameda Street, and Downey Avenue from
Foster Road to De Palma Street.

Paramount Stewart & Gray Drain, consisting of the following:
a. A portion of No. 32 -501 along Paramount Boulevard
from Imperial Highway to Stewart & Gray Road.
b. No. 32 -501H along Stewart & Gray Road from Paramount
Boulevard westerly approximately 900 feet.
RECOMMENDED.
Quill Drain consisting of the following:
a. No. 32 -503D along Quill Road from Old River
School Road to Richeon Avenue.
Western Avenue Drain, consisting of the following:
a. A portion of No. 32 -507 along Western Avenue from
5th Street to Florence Avenue.
Ceitelia - Pangborn Drain consisting of the following:
a. A portion of No. 33 -608 along Cecelia Street from
the San Gabriel River to Pangborn Avenue.
b. No. 33- 60SBalong Pangborn Avenue from Cecelia
Street to Via Amorita.
Firestone - Lakewood paint consisting of the following:
a. A portion of No. 33 -606 along Firestone Boulevard
and Lakewood Boulevard from Woodruff Avenue to 5th
Street.
SECTION 2. The Downey City Council wishes to stress the fact that the
need for storm drains within the City of Downey is critical and therefore
urges the County of Los Angeles to allocate construction monies on not only
the bats of population and assessed valuation, but the basis of need as well.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution
and forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Los Angeles County Board
of Supervisors, and Mr. Harold E. Hedger, Chief Engineer, Los Angeles County
Flood Control District.
