HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution No. 161 197 RESOLUTION NO. / 4 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DOWNEY EXPRESSING ITS APPRECIATION FOR THE SERVICES PERFORMED BY THE CITIZENS' SANITATION COMMITTEE. WHEREAS, Mrs. Leona Aldridge, Mrs. Bernard. Erhart, William M. Troy, Harry E. Sloan, John K. Morris, Joseph Dyer, Jerome Wheeler, and Arthur W. Crawford were appointed to the Citizens' Sanitation Canmittee for the purpose 1 of advising the City Council and the City Administrative Staff relative to the policies which should be formed by the city for the collection of garbage and refuse, and WHEREAS, ......811 said persons acting as members of said committee, after giving much thought and deliberation to the problem unstintingly of their time, authorized the Chairman of the Committee to make a recommendation on such matter, and. WHEREAS, the City Council, pursuant to such recommendation, adopted the program recommended by said committee and awarded contracts pursuant thereto, now THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Downey does resolve as follows: SECTION 1. That it extends its appreciation and gratitude to said committee as a whole and to each of the members of said committee for the service they have performed on behalf of the citizens of the city, the Administrative Staff of the city, and the City Council of said city. SECTION 2.
